Jag F-Type to debut in Paris

JAGUAR is to display its new F-Type two-seater sports car for the first time at the Paris Motor Show.
The completely new all-aluminium design is the spiritual successor to the iconic E-Type, as a high-performance lightweight and, it’s hoped, stunning looks.

Some details have already been released, and while the car will be rear-wheel-drive only using an eight-speed automatic gearbox, there will be three petrol engine choices.
An all-new supercharged V6 will come in 335bhp and 375bhp versions, while a development of the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 seen in cars like Jaguar’s XFR will be the range-topper.

A disguised F-Type test mule was driven at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, but the Paris show will be the first time it will have been seen publicly after 10 million computer-processor-hours of development.
Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars, said: “The unveiling of the F-Type in Paris will be a truly significant day in Jaguar’s history as it will mark the company’s return to the sports car market, a market it originally helped to create.
“As its sporting forebears did in their era, the F-Type will break new ground by delivering stunning sports car performance while vividly demonstrating Jaguar’s cutting-edge engineering technologies and world-class design excellence. The next step in Jaguar’s sporting bloodline is about to become reality.”
