Being at the Office More than 11 Hours? Get ready Depression


Be careful when you are in office for a long time. Your chance to experience depression have increased two-fold compared to those who work within normal working hours.

British researchers found that those who worked more than 11 hours per day or more than 55 hours per week had a higher risk. This risk was more often be experienced by women, young children, and those who have low incomes.

This study is based on research on about 2,000 civilian workers from various sectors, earnings and hours worked. They start working around the early 1990s and is aged between 35-55 years.

When their data revealed again six years later, scientists from two London universities and colleges in Finland found no association between overtime and depression. In fact, not only depression, other factors such as unhealthy lifestyles, marriages are doomed to fail, and the ever-growing work pressure also appear.
