Kim Kardashian is said to be desperate for her boyfriend Kanye West to become a judge on American Idol.

The 'I Wish You Would' rapper has been hotly tipped to join Mariah Carey as a judge alongside Nicki Minaj who is also said to have signed up to fill a place on the new panel, following the departure of Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler.

While Kanye is rumoured to be keen to sign up to the show, sources say Kim is also pushing her beau to take the role.

"It’s [going to] happen man – Kanye wants to do [American Idol] and Kim want [him] to do it, too," a source told HollywoodLife.

"[It isn't] final though, but he [wants] to do it badly and Kim [wants] him to do it, and whatever [she wants,] she gets. So watch out…[Kim's] excited though…and [she's] pushing [Kanye] hard to do the [show.] And you know [she's going to] be there with [him] if [it goes] right."

The source also claims Kanye will wow audiences if and when he decides to sign a contract. "[He's going to] blow [American Idol] up this year, feel me? [He's going to] come with it and people will love him," the insider adds.

"He [isn't] trying to diss [anybody,] but everybody [knows he's going to] bring the house down once they finalise s**t."
